I am a passionate and effective teacher who believes that students learn best by doing. I have a love of language and particularly enjoy teaching English. I have taught adults and children in the United States, in Peru (where I was born and spent part of my childhood), and most recently in Kenya. In 2016 I received my TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) from the Boston Language Institute. After teaching for a few years I obtained a Masters of Education in ESL from Gordon College. I have been studying the process of language acquisition for years, and it continues to fascinate me. My aim is always to keep students actively engaged, and to hold them to high standards while creating a supportive environment.
