I am a graduate from Florida International University in Miami, FL. I received my Bachelor's of Science in Biological Sciences. While pursuing this degree, I became a student-teacher for both middle and high school science courses, teaching subjects ranging from environmental science, biology, and chemistry. It was during this time when I discovered my love for teaching. Since receiving my degree, I have done extensive research on the Florida Everglades, studying both atmospheric carbon and wildfires. I also served as a Writing Assistant in both science and gender studies college courses, helping students develop thoughtful and purposeful works of writing. Currently, I am pursuing a Master's of Biomedical Sciences degree at Rutgers University in Newark, NJ. I am passionate about the field of medicine and hope to become a physician one day. My ultimate goal is to provide health care to disadvantaged groups who are often excluded from our healthcare systems. But, as I work towards this degree, I still carry the passion of teaching. I hope to encourage other students to appreciate STEM as much as I do and to potentially pursue careers in STEM. In my spare time, I love reading, exploring new restaurants, discovering unique sites in nature, and traveling to new cities.
