I am a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist who holds the Certificate of Clinical Competency through ASHA. My career objective is to serve as a medical SLP with CBIS and swallow specialist certifications. My three-year anniversary of serving as an SLP is June 2024. I completed my clinical fellowship, plus additional months, in skilled nursing facilities- where most med SLPs begin their career- located in Oregon. My base job was coverage of three facilities but periodically covered up to five. I resigned from my SNF position to work in private practice specializing in oromyofunctional disorders and pediatric feeding therapy. I am a foodie at heart, noting new foods as a highlight on all my vacations, so dysphagia and feeding therapy is close to my heart. After a year in private practice, my dream SLP job posted an opening in Texas at the time that my husband and I were considering moving back home to the South. I am currently working in a neurorehabilitation program specialized in inpatient and dayneuro services for acquired brain injuries. I also work PRN in acute care at a hospital that is preparing to become an accredited stroke rehabilitation facility. In addition to my clinical experiences, I have served as an SLP tutor through Varsity Tutors since February 2022 by preparing students to pass their Praxis or maximize professional learning outcomes for graduate coursework and clinical experiences. I expect anyone who seeks services through Varsity to be developing professionals, meaning internal motivation and discipline are key traits. No one can know all-things-SLP, so I will gladly provide in-depth review for areas of challenge.

When I am not at work, you can typically find me outdoors. I am currently getting my horse and myself back into shape to compete in rodeos since college kept me off the rodeo road. I currently compete in barrel racing and have plans to re-enter roping. If I’m not at a competition on a weekend, I’m pretty challenging to find. I hit the trails throughout Oregon with my boyfriend and two dogs. My favorite views are the mountains and waterfalls.
