I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

Certified Tutor

Born in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, I am still adjusting to the hot and humid weather, despite having lived in Florida for about fifteen years now. I graduated from high school at Saint Stephen's Episcopal School in Bradenton, Florida, and am currently a Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience major at the University of Florida. I have a passion for medicine and hope to attend medical school after my undergraduate studies.

I had to overcome many health challenges in high school, so I understand firsthand what it is like being a capable student but needing help due to factors outside of your control. Personally, I loved tutoring when I was the student (I was a student in ACT tutoring, AP Chemistry, Pre-Calculus, and then AP Calculus tutoring in high school) because I felt like I was finally getting 100% of my tutor/teacher's attention, and the session was tailored to my needs. As such, I aim to give my tutoring clients the same experience, if not better!

I tutor K-12 English, math (including Algebra), reading, and writing, as well as ACT English. Many students prefer to get to know one tutor and stick with him/her, so if there are multiple subjects for which you need tutoring, feel free to ask if I am able to tutor you in those other areas as well, as I am qualified (and open) to tutor several other subjects as well. One favor I ask of you is to please tell me when we meet what your favorite and least favorite studying methods and techniques are, as I want to be able to tailor our tutoring sessions to fit your needs as best as possible.

I have always loved working with elementary, middle, and high school students, and helping people become the best versions of themselves as students and individuals is a passion of mine. In high school, I participated in peer-to-peer tutoring, mostly with grammar and writing skills...huge grammar nerd here ;). Additionally, many of my high school teachers have felt very special this year when I have come to visit them after working as an alumni tutor. I have gained further tutoring experience through volunteering at a local elementary school where I worked with underprivileged third grade students to improve their reading and math skills. I like to believe that this experience has made me better equipped to tutor you, but I think what serves as an even better asset than my tutoring experience is my experience as a student myself. having only recently graduated high school (and having undergone the stressful ACT and college admissions process), the pressure many of you might be feeling right now is fresh in my mind. Additionally, I'm still a student, so I promise you I can relate to your struggles of trying to improve your grades/GPA, study habits, time management, social life, and sleepall at the same time.

I am very excited to meet you, and I can't wait to work together to achieve your academic goals!
