Francis: Summit tutor
Certified Tutor
I'm an educator passionate about building learning experiences that empower students. As a teacher of over 10 years, I've worked with thousands of students across multiple domains, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, on their journey of scientific discovery.
I view myself as a co-learner with my students, aiming to build curriculum that guides us to a robust understanding of real-world phenomena. In my teaching, I seek to guide my students to understanding through thoughtful error-making, reflection, and revision, which I believe is essential to success regardless of a student's chosen vocation.
I believe deeply that high expectations are attainable for all kids through high support and thoughtful planning. Therefore, I constantly reassess my teaching through the lens of what is best for my studentsin order to provide equitable access to all students. Each day, I aim to do all that I am capable to make students feel welcomed, valued, and challenged.
I am hungry to continue to work towards creating opportunities for students to engage and realize their full potential as learners and young people.
I believe that as your tutor, we can achieve just that.

When I am not teaching or tutoring, I am an avid cyclist. I love the combination of exercise and exploration that I can achieve riding my bike to far off places. I also have a great love for cooking and boardgames; there's nothing better than trying a new recipe or playing your favorite game with friends and family. My longest standing passion, however, is ice hockey. I've been hooked ever since I learned to skate when I was 3 years old. I even play to this day, every Friday evening!
