I am a graduate of the University of Colorado and the University of York. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and my Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics. I have travelled extensively and lived abroad for many years. My teaching experiences include adults and children online in Japan; children in person in Samoa as part of my U.S. Peace Corps service; adults while living in China and children again living in the U.S. I am most passionate about tutoring in English, Writing and History. My favourite part of teaching is that 'ah-ha' moment when my students (no matter the age) grasp an idea or concept they were struggling with. I live for those moments as a teacher, when the students say, 'I got this now!' I truly believe in the transformative power of education, as knowledge is something that cannot be taken away, and I try to encourage all my students to find what they are passionate about it help drive them to be better versions of themselves. In my spare time, I enjoy reading all kinds of novels, yoga, geocaching, crafting, gaming, and watching rugby.
Undergraduate Degree: University of Colorado Boulder - Bachelor in Arts, Anthropology
I enjoy reading romances, manga, mysteries and fantasy novels. I also enjoy reading and learning about different places and times. As weird as it may seem, I also enjoy learning about the history of the English Language. If I'm not reading (or working), I am either crafting something, hunting up a geocache, watching the England Rugby team win a game (or not) and yoga or mediation. I also love to travel and been to many places around the U.S. and the rest of the world.
