Years ago I learned the most valuable lesson as a new teacher. It's quite simple in statement. "I am the climate of my classroom." In practice, I hold it true as I make a promise on day one that my students will always have sunny weather and clear skies in our classroom be it virtual or in person. Knowing that the tone of our classroom starts and ends with my platform manner, my kindness, and my empathy has set my own personal code as an educator. Each of my students is valued, respected, and acknowledged. Holding that knowledge in their hearts has made them eager to learn and excel in the material and curriculum in our class. That has made all the difference in my career.
I graduated from St. John's University with an Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts in English. I have a minor in Secondary Education. I have taught middle school, high school and college over the course of my career as well as tutored students within those age groups. I taught English Literature, English Composition 101-1 and Introduction to Communications. I enjoy reading, writing and discussing literature so much that I started a virtual book club for my last group of students. I believe that reading and writing form the foundation of our educational careers as well as our success in the workplace.

In my spare time, I enjoy cycling as a form of self care. I love spending time with my family, our golden doodle and guinea pig.
