Hello! I am a licensed teacher, and have worked as a substitute teacher for 15 years, and a tutor for about 12. I have a great deal of experience teaching reading and math in grades K-7.
I am very dedicated to helping my students achieve academic success, and cannot help celebrating right along side each of them as they reach their goals! Equally important to me, however, is the experience each child has while working with me to reach these goals. I make every effort to ensure our sessions are enjoyable, and that each student feels safe to explore his or her learning in a judgement free zone. Respect and compassion are key in helping my students to reach academic success, and more importantly, to gain the confidence and independence needed to do so in the future!

Most of my hobbies center around nature. I enjoy gardening, hiking, or simply sitting by a lake and soaking in the sights and sounds of nature. I also enjoy movies that inspire, or help me to learn a life lesson. Music can be an inspiration to me as well. Finally, I have been making an effort to live in a more natural way, for my own benefit, as well as to reduce the impact I have on the natural world around me.
