During college, I was heavily involved in teaching. I first volunteered as a tutor in the chemistry department at my undergraduate college and provided academic support for first-generation students. As I engaged with the material, I gained the confidence to pursue another role with increased responsibility. I served as a teaching assistant for organic chemistry II and taught and supervised one section of twenty undergraduate students weekly. By assisting students with complex homework problems and answering their questions, these roles showed me the amount of knowledge required to convey even the simplest concepts. This experience allowed me to see how teaching lies at the intersection of knowledge, communication, and passion. I aspire to share my enthusiasm for chemistry and math with my students and want to make the subjects fun to learn and study.

Undergraduate Degree: University of Maryland-University College - Bachelor of Science, Biochemistry
I was trained as a professional badminton player in China and played the sport throughout my childhood before I moved to the country. Besides badminton, I have also learned to play its relatives - ping pong and tennis. I am always looking for friends to play the sports with me. In addition, photography has also been my greatest interest. I leisurely take pictures around my undergraduate and graduate campuses to keep as memories for myself. Furthermore, I enjoy playing and solving Rubik's cubes. My current record for solving a 3-by-3 cube is one and a half minutes. I am also learning to solve 2-by-2 and 4-by-4 cubes. In my free time, I like to do cross-stitching. I have finished many projects and am working on a few new ones.
