I am a passionate educator who is dedicated to student success, empowerment, and growth. Education is my passion because of the magic found in the 'ah-ha' moments when learning happens. Those are beautiful moments that we get to see people's growth. I see education as a tool of empowerment.
I taught writing and critical thinking at a university for nine years. I also had the opportunity to teach a range of literature classes as well as English as a foreign language classes during that time. I chose to pursue a doctoral degree in education and have been subbing at the high schools while I complete a PhD in curriculum and instruction. I received certification to teach English as a foreign language from Cambridge after completing their CELTA program in Denver, Colorado. I have taught ESL classes to a range of students from middle school students to career professionals who also had a range of first languages including Chinese, Arabic, and Spanish. I earned a bachelor's degree in English and minored in sociology. I earned my first master's degree in literature and my second master's degree in sustainable communities.

I love yoga but mostly the mediative forms. I have recently started resistance training, and I love how great it makes me feel! When I get the chance, I love to read fantasy novels and watch documentaries.
