I enjoy learning and teaching. For this reason I spent many years in school and research and teaching. After a BS in Chemistry, I went on to get a MS in Organic Chemistry (IIT Bombay) and thereafter completed a PhD in Biochemistry/Biophysics at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India.
I worked in biomedical research for a decade (The Cleveland Clinic, Ohio) before I switched to teaching. This was out of necessity and interest. I needed to spend time educating my three children. While home schooling my children, I used the opportunity to tutor kids who needed help in math and science, in my home. Later, I worked at a tutoring center teaching a diverse group of students from all backgrounds, ethnicity and languages.
After my kids graduated from HS, I took up long term teaching at the university level. I have worked as a chemistry professor for 7 years.
I enjoy the satisfaction from seeing my students achieve success in the career path that they have chosen and continue to reach out to more who need a helping hand.

I have always enjoyed natural sciences. Understanding the laws of math, physics, chemistry and biology. I get a lot of my answers from reading books, watching movies BUT most of all by hiking in the wilderness. I have lived and hiked in Alaska for six years and have learned amazing things about nature. I enjoy cooking for family and friends. My kitchen is my chemistry lab.
