I am a seasoned educator with 25 years of experience working with children in the public school system grades K-6. I grew up in Texas and graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor's degree in Applied Learning and Development, Elementary Theater Arts and Generic Special Education. I continued my education when I moved to Wisconsin in 1997 and graduated from The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a Master's in Early Childhood Special Education. In June of 2021 I retired from my local school district after a 21 year career in special education.
After graduating from UT Austin I began working as an Early Childhood Special Education teacher and have worked in various special education positions K-6 throughout my career. I also was part of the creation and start-up of our district's 4K program and I am trained and worked as a math interventionist at the 5th and 6th grade level.

Throughout my career I was viewed by others as an insightful motivator and cheerleader for my students. I have a proven track record of success, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to empower others to work together to find and deliver results. I strongly believe all children can learn and will put in the effort needed to make that happen. On a personal note, I have 3 grown children and a new grandbaby that was born in April 2021. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, my dog, and my friends as well as reading and traveling.
