Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of Ball State University in Muncie, IN. I hold a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree in Music Education with a focus on Kindergarten through 12th Grade. I have taught all grades and held summer camps in theatre and movie making for students in the corporation where I worked. Recent years have found me teaching Music Appreciation at Ivy Tech Community College.
Children and young people have always found a place in my heart and I thoroughly enjoy seeing the light go on in their eyes when they understand or grasp a concept. Learning happens at different times and in stages unique to each student. It is my task to find the appropriate techniques for the students.
I have tutored struggling students as we prepared for Standardized Testing. Helping students do the best they can and to grow in their academic life is pure joy.
Reading is one of my passions as is learning about the history of America. Being a grandma to my sweet granddaughters is my greatest passion. Traveling with them has been a joy and I hope we can do more of that. My husband and I took our family to Disney World and another trip found us in the Carolinas. I hope to take them to our nation's capital, now that they are old enough to understand and learn from that trip.
My teaching philosophy is simple; everyone can learn. It is the educator's responsibility to open doors and present material in a manner that the student can get excited about learning without realizing it!
