I graduated from the University of Washington with a BA degree in American Studies and from City University with a Masters Degree in Teaching. Since graduation, I have worked across Washington state teaching K-8 students from many backgrounds. My goal as a teacher is to build strong relationships with students and families, working together as a team to meet all students' needs. In order to accomplish this goal, communication is key! I believe students have many different learning styles that can be used to understand skills with clarity. It is my job to help each student identify their own unique learning style and communicate in ways that make sense!
My love for teaching began as a small child when I taught my younger siblings how to count, add and read in engaging ways! Since then, my goal is to make learning fun and interactive so students connect to what they are learning and can see how skills connect and grow into much needed lifelong skills.
Math and writing are my favorite things to teach, however, I enjoy teaching and learning of all kind!

In addition to teaching, I write and publish educational and fun children's books, crochet, cross stitch and bake! I am also a fan of camping and all types of outdoor cooking.
