Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of High Point University. I have my Bachelor's degree in elementary education and am a certified teacher. I plan to get my Master's degree in education technology in the future. I have worked in many classrooms throughout my college career and have always had a passion for teaching. I find that having a joy for learning is highly important and understanding what you are learning is important to that enjoyment and tutoring is the way to go for helping out students. I am a tutor for all Elementary subjects along with basic computer skills. My favorite subject to teach/tutor is math. I enjoy tutoring math because I love the many different manipulatives you can create and use to help with understanding math. My approach to teaching is mainly visual because I believe that for students to develop a deeper understanding of concepts especially math concepts that they should be able to visualize and understand why they got the answer rather than just knowing the answer through memorization. I believe that is the way to develop conceptual understanding. In my spare time I like to paint, draw, cook and bake a lot of different kinds of foods.
