We all know that learning is important. What I strive to show all of my students, is that learning can also be fun and exciting. Finding joy in learning will not only help them reach their current goals, but will set them up to have a lifelong thirst for knowledge.
My diverse career in the education field has given me many tools and strategies to find just the right mode of learning for each child. My original degree, as a music educator and performer, helps me bring creativity and excitement to my lessons. My current job as a K-5 Media Specialist and Librarian lets me keep up to date with all grade levels and all subjects in my school AND helps me know all the best books to get your children hooked on reading. In addition to that I have been a Special Education Aide and Tutor and even owned my own children's activity and learning center where I used all of the branches of the arts to enhance and encourage learning.
On top of all of that, I am the mother of two children. Between my many years of working with children and my years of motherhood, there isn't much I haven't seen.
I am excited to have another opportunity to help students find success.

I love almost anything creative. As a former music teacher, music is still a big part of my life. I also love arts and crafts including crochet, jewelry making and paper crafting. I am constantly reading the books in my school library so I can help students find just the right book. I love to cook and bake. 3D cakes are one of my favorite things to make and I've even been paid to make cakes for others. On the other side of creativity, I really enjoy all kinds of DIY and home renovation. If I don't know how to do it then I'm ready to learn.
