Coming from a long line of teachers, I believe that anyone can not only learn but can enjoy learning. Not everyone is raised in the kind of environment that fosters that enjoyment, or even knowledge of how best to go about learning, so I started tutoring to help instill at least some strategies to help make learning easier.
My methodology in tutoring is mainly working with my students, tutoring sessions becoming more of a conversation about the content than a lecture. This philosophy of working with people rather than students has led to academic success from my past students, as I was taken on as the Tutor Team Lead for at my previous position.
I specialize in tutoring English, as I am currently working toward becoming a professor of English literature. However, I also have experience in tutoring mathematics, basic Spanish, and entry-level psychology.
