I am passionate about helping students because I love to see them overcome their challenges. It is seeing the confidence of a student build after he or she just solve a problem that they once struggled with. It is bringing that same confidence into the classroom and being able to participate without feeling discouraged or defeated. I love to see the smile and excitement a student has when they begin to have a better understanding of what they are doing. It is creating that confidence where they are also able to explain and help others with their struggles. I volunteered at a faith based organization, Grace United Methodist and I have been assisting students from K-6 in many subjects but more in English. Later, I became the Director of the Afterschool program. I have experienced a few students who had challenges in different subjects areas. Seeing them struggle and overcome that not only put a smile on their face but mine as well. It's all about seeing my students improve in their learning, regardless of how many ways I have to modify my instructions. It's about meeting the needs, improving their learning and seeing them succeed. I am pursuing my BA in Childhood Education with a concentration in English at Medgar Ever College. I graduate in May 2022. In the future I plan on becoming a Principal. Currently, I volunteer as a tutor at COVE. A Community of Volunteer Educators that provide free virtual tutoring that has been established last year, working alongside with Medgar Evers College.
