Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of Northern Michigan University and received a Bachelor of Arts in French with a minor in English. I also earned a certificate in surgical technology. While surgery and medicine still fascinates me a great deal, my true love is the English language. I was fortunate to be able to spend a year in France teaching English as a second language! This was before the internet connected the world as it does now. I missed America, came home to my small town, and thought my ESL teaching days were over. I dedicated my time to my wonderful family and my husband Brad's business, a music school called The Beatlab. Three and a half years ago I found an online company that allows me to teach English to Chinese students. I've been doing that ever since and loving every minute of it! I am so happy to have rediscovered the joy of teaching. My own children are ages 18, 15, and 9. As a mother, I understand the frustrations of kids who are having trouble in class. As a teacher, I like to meet my students exactly where they are and help them to excel! I am eager to help my students learn, whether they grew up speaking English and need some extra math help, they don't even know how to say 'hello' in English, or they need to learn the proper English intonation for a question.
