I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

Adah: Burien tutor

Certified Tutor

I graduated from Seton Hall University in May 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and a minor in French. I am currently taking a gap year while applying to medical schools and I want to use my education and experience with the pre-med process to help other students on their journeys. I also took a gap year between high school and college, at which time I was self-employed as an in-person tutor for elementary and high school students in Ontario, Canada. In university, I frequently tutored students enrolled in courses I was also taking or had taken in the past and supported fellow students studying for the MCAT. I tutor a wide range of subjects, but I most enjoy tutoring math, calculus, physics, chemistry, biology, and French, since these seem to be some of the most challenging subjects for students and I love watching their confidence grow as they grasp difficult concepts. For math/calculus and physics especially, my students love the diagrams or real-life analogies I use to help them understand the significance behind numbers and equations, so I prioritize revealing how each subject I tutor can relate to daily life to give students a passion for learning them. In my spare time, I enjoy reading about developments in the medical community, running, rollerblading, knitting, solving Sudoku puzzles, playing the flute, and traveling with family.
