Hello, I'm Mars! I tutor Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Writing, and English subjects, with a focus on middle and high school students.

As a tutor, I work to identify learning struggles and apply personalized lesson plans that best suit the student. During our sessions, I guide students through their homework or provide assignments to ensure a strong understanding of the material and the development of effective study skills.

I have approximately five years of tutoring experience, including two with Varsity Tutors. In addition, I've worked as a high school teacher in a public alternative school, teaching students across a wide range of academic levels. I'm especially passionate about working with students with disabilities, helping them build confidence and achieve goals.

In my spare time, I enjoy writing, playing video games (like Minecraft, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Horizon: Zero Dawn), and exploring ethical philosophy. I also love taking peaceful walks, immersing myself in nature, and learning about human behavior and psychology. My husband and I (and our three cats) live in Athens, Georgia. Outside of tutoring, I work as a caretaker of a teenager with Tourette syndrome, an experience that has deepened my passion for supporting others. I’m also preparing to begin earning my master’s degree in clinical psychology, with the goal of becoming a therapist and eventually opening my own practice.
