Leading children to gain confidence and success in the classroom has been my passion for over 20 years! I have taught in a variety of settings including first graders from a lower socio-economic background, third and fifth graders in a more rural environment, a multi-age kindergarten/first grade class in a private Montessori school, and most recently, homeschooling my son in fourth through twelfth grades.
My career started while pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Berry College with the belief that after law school I would fight for children's rights. At that same time, I was working at an on-campus school helping a kindergarten class. Upon my graduation, I realized that I would miss seeing a new set of fresh faces that upcoming fall with all their associated learning experiences. So, with that new direction in mind, I returned to earn my Master's in Education.
Helping young children delight in the joyous discovery that they can read all by themselves, singing with my third graders to reinforce multiplication tables, engaging my fifth graders in rich literature selections, sponsoring drama performances, taking juggling breaks, and using walks in the school's garden to teach social skills have all been a part of my teaching career. Learning is fun, and I believe EVERY child should be given the chance to experience success.

In my spare time I enjoy photography and creating meaningful art with my pictures. I also love making recipes my own in the kitchen, as well as producing "thematic" pancakes for my family based on their interests. I have flipped everything from Mario hats to headphones! Adventure in travelling overseas has also been a wonderful part of my life. Visiting places like the exotic Grand Bazaar in Istanbul, the lovely Rodin Museum in Paris, the unforgettable Leaning Tower of Pisa, and the enchanting Neuschwanstein castle in Germany, has really broadened my perspective, and created a greater measure of gratitude in my life.
