Certified Tutor

I am a Georgia Certified Elementary School Teacher. I am a graduate of Skidmore College, in Saratoga Springs, NY, where I majored in Elementary Education. During my senior year at Skidmore, I completed my student teaching in a first and fourth grade classroom. I brought my organizational and management skills along with my ability to modify and individualize curriculum into these classrooms. I modified curriculum to best suit my students and I focused on creating constructivist classrooms that were student-driven. I used movement, manipulatives, and peer interaction to engage my learners and provide concrete examples to difficult concepts. I use the strategy "I do, We do, You do" frequently to model the expected behavior, procedure, or skill. I also used one-on-one reading conferences as a way to individualize instruction and to build a relationship with each student. I am well versed in various learning and instruction strategies. I adapted to each learning environment and applied strategies that would best suit my students. I am passionate about teaching and thoroughly enjoy working one-on-one with students. I enjoy individualizing lesson plans to cater to every student's need.
