I am a Freshman of the Class of 2024 in the University of Texas at Dallas; my major is Computer Science. Back when I was in high school in Vietnam, which is a long time ago (at least 5 years), I stood out amongst my friends with the ability to perform really well in science subjects like Math, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics. I always love learning new things and have a passion for academic stuff. One of my proudest achievements back then was earning the highest score amongst high school seniors in my state in the annual national final exam of 2015, an equivalent to the SAT. Afterwards, I spent nearly 4 years in college as a medical student but had to quit my studying to immigrate to the US. Though I am a little bit old to start college again, I do not really deem this as a disadvantage. In fact, my past experience would be really helpful to guide me through tough times in college. I am so excited and thankful that I have a chance to pursue my passion in one of the best education systems in the world.

Colleges are definitely a great place for young people not only in terms of academic achievement but also with regard to socializing, networking, and how we grow up. However, I reckon that not all of us could pursue our goals at our dream college since we have to go through the application process, which still significantly relies on standardized tests score like SAT 1 and SAT 2 to determine the ability to become successful of a student in the future.

Not long ago I spent a great amount of time to prepare for the SAT when I was about to apply for US colleges and did very well in the Math section, as well as SAT subject tests like Math II and Chemistry. I also worked with some students to help them with their subject tests, including teaching them new concepts, providing materials, and so on.

I realize that every student has a different story; they pursue different goals due to their distinctions of ability, mindset, ... What I always want to do is to create an engaging, and fun environment to help them focus in learning rather than see it as a burden. In order to do that, giving constructive criticisms when needed is a must-need. Also, I love to encourage my students to have their own solution first for a new or difficult problem and value creativity and flexibility. You will not have to learn every formula in my class; rather, I will help you know how they are constructed, in other words, how people come up with a certain mathematic relations, so that even if you forgot something during your exam, you could still easily formulate or recall it.
