Hi, my name is Jimmy! I first started tutoring while in College, helping out other students with Math and Statistics, for our local Academic Support Center. I have a degree in Mathematics, and through this degree I've realized that anybody can learn Math, if they can put in the time and effort. My views on Math have changed, so as to think of Math as a language for the communication of abstract thought.

While teaching middle and high school Math as a substitute teacher, I've realized a lot of students are taught the language of Mathematics as if they were being told to memorize the dictionary: in other words, students are told to memorize little formulas that they have very little interest in. My goal is to help students see the metaphorical "poetry" behind Math: to find the interest and application of any concept, so that students can learn the language themselves in a useful and engaging way.

My hobbies include reading, riding my motorcycle, and baking with my wife! I have two children, a beautiful girl age 2, and a newborn son, 1 month old.
