Even though I struggled with chemistry in high school initially, I decided to take the AP Chemistry course the following year, mostly because my teacher told me that I would not succeed in it. During after school review sessions, I saw the anxious faces of my peers as we attempted our homework together. Soon, I tried helping to answer questions and the students wanted more help from me after that! By senior year, I was a private chemistry tutor. These teaching opportunities proved to me and everyone else that chemistry can be understood with the correct aid to guide.
Throughout my interactions with these students, it made me wish I was able to ask for help from someone who could explain a certain concept in a way I could understand back when I was a sophomore. This regret impacted me, so today I question my professors about any misconceptions that I may have. In my first semester of college, I decided to take chemistry even though I passed the AP exam and didn't have to take it again as an undergraduate, but I did so that I could gain laboratory experience and hands-on skills. Overall, chemistry and other subjects are very special to me and I would be glad to be able to help others in any way!
