I am a bilingual Mandarin Chinese and English speaker. I spent the past 6.5 years living abroad in China, where I worked on developing not only my Mandarin speech, but also my reading and writing in characters. I am able to recognize 2,500 characters. When one begins to learn Mandarin, it is essential that you begin from the very basics- phonics. This is what I concentrate on in the primary lessons as allowing students to grasp the fundamental components of the Mandarin language is vital in their language learning journey. I have received many language certifications for my own Mandarin that include HSK 4 and 5 certificates (Internationally recognized Mandarin Chinese language level for non-native speakers). Learning Mandarin may seem overwhelming, but as long as one is willing to put in the time, it is an achievable goal!

I have taught English as a second language abroad to students ranging in ages from 3 years old to 40 years old. While my teaching approach differs with every student relating to their specific objectives, I place significant emphasis on creating lessons and content that interests the student, thus promoting a sincere connection for the student with the language. I have a TEFL certificate (Teach English as a Foreign Language) .
