Discovering new things and idea has always been a passion for me since I was a kid. This have also stirred my passion for continuous learning and discovery. After my college degree in mathematics which was quiet challenging for me; it came to my notice how challenging this course of study can be if not properly taught. The passion to make a change in the education sector make me to take a teaching job in a high school where I was teaching mathematics in a well simplify and structured manner for student's easy assimilation. During this time, it was a fulfilling moment for me knowing am being able to spark up that light in the mind of the students.
After the success in teaching on a part time basic, I took up a full time Job with the state as Grade 9 mathematics teacher; this was an enjoyable moment for me because I was able to make significant impact by increasing the mathematics pass rate from 40% to 98% after 3 years. This achievement was maintained for another 2 years and it also pave way for me in getting many tutoring contracts from parents and reference who say how good their students have improved in the subject. I was able to teach professionally students from Grade 9 to Grade 12 for a period of six (6) years both in the school and as a contract Tutor. Also, during my time of teaching with the state, i forge ahead to obtain my master's degree in statistic which has further expand my horizon on content and in the teaching of the subject.
My aspirations to continue tutoring mathematics are based on the fact that Knowledge alone by itself cannot have any significant impact on your life or on that of others; only be applying that knowledge on a particular goal, idea or action or thought and dedicating oneself to achieving something from life, will there be a meaningful and powerful result. My desire is to impact positively every student I teach and make them not just to understand or pass the subject but to love the subject the same way I do. This will be true fulfilment for me as a Tutor.
