Tutoring Experience
I have had 10 years of full-time secondary level teaching experience in both the state and private sector.
I have taught a full range of ages and abilities from year 7 through to year 13 and have an excellent pass rate at GCSE and A Level.
I am able to teach all GCSE and A Level exam boards in English Language and Literature, with most recent classroom experience in the following:
AQA: GCSE English Language and Literature
Edexcel: GCSE English
Edexcel: A Level English Literature
I have also had a vast range of experience in teaching Key Stage 3 (year 7-9) and can help primary school pupils prepare for the move to secondary.
Tutoring Approach
I plan all lessons based on the needs of the individuals I teach. I use formative assessment to inform my planning, ensuring that pupils are able to reflect upon their own strengths and areas for improvement. I am a firm believer in the importance of reading and offer support and suggestions in order to encourage this among my students. I am patient and supportive and able to adapt my style of teaching to suit individual preferences.
