Certified Tutor

I am currently a student at Stevens Institute of Technology pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Biology. As a student, my favorite part of learning is what I call the epiphany moment, when everything connects and the material makes sense. However, I find even more joy when I see that epiphany moment in my students; their confidence soars as their effort pays off. While I have done peer tutoring since middle school, my first legitimate tutoring experience came in high school when I worked at Kumon, teaching students ranging from preschool to high school both math and english. Afterwards, I began tutoring friends and local clients, primarily for the SAT and PSAT. I currently tutor for those standardized tests along with math, both algebra and calculus, essay writing, grammar, and Latin. My approach to tutoring is strengthening the basics and then teaching the complex. Students are like buildings; they must have an unbreakable foundation before they can be built up. Also, I find that students learn best through examples, and so I always introduce new topics through examples to help facilitate the learning process. My greatest passion is soccer, which I love to both play and watch, and I also enjoy reading and table tennis.
