I am a graduate of Old Dominion University (Go Monarchs!) and Johns Hopkins University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice/Sociology and I received my Masters degree in Early Childhood Education.

I am currently in my fifth year of teaching in DC Public Schools. I began my teaching career as a Special Education teacher -- I taught grades pre-k to 2nd in a small group, resource setting for three years. During my fourth year of teaching, I switched to general education (1st grade). I am currently teaching 1st grade and I truly enjoy teaching our "little learners".

As an educator, I am passionate about helping students maximize their potential. In my opinion, there is no greater feeling than when a student has an "ah ha" moment and truly begins to understand concepts that they have struggled with. I believe moments like this are pure and genuine.

When i'm not at teaching or coaching soccer, I am most likely crocheting or reading. They are both hobbies that I love and enjoy. I also really love to travel. I have been to many different states and 5 countries! I hope to travel to Europe in the near future.
