I believe that every student can learn. I believe that when a student is struggling with a topic, the best way to help is to go back as far as necessary, fill in the missing understanding, then return to the original topic.

I also believe that the student needs to know WHY, not just how, which is why I go back to fill in the missing gaps.

Watching "the light come on" when a student understands, is a most satisfying experience, knowing I have helped.
