I graduated with a B.S. in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Global Studies. Currently, I am applying and interviewing at medical schools while taking EMT classes at night. During my undergraduate years, I played D1 soccer which equipped me with time management and organizational skills. This can be extended to helping any individual who has major commitments outside of school, such as a sport, job, or any extracurricular. Balancing the importance of education with a healthy and successful life is just as important as studying.

I love biology and biochemistry and sharing that love for science with others. Microbiology is my favorite subject and being in a Micro lab is therapeutic for me. My favorite podcast is This Week in Science. Making education fun is something that I strive for through attempting to make the material applicable to your life or interests.

The methods that I use to study include (but are not limited to) flashcards (probably in the thousands during the last four years), making extensive, comprehensive notes and then streamlining the concepts (note reduction), and drawing/writing on a whiteboard your own interpretation of the material. GoogleDrive is a terrific organizational tool that I believe every student can use.

For fun, I play on a recreational soccer team, hang out with my dog, and enjoy east coast swing dancing. Occasionally I attend art classes even though I do not have a single artistic bone in my body. My favorite book is The Book Thief except when I'm feeling philosophical, then its Les Miserables. I am also currently trying to learn Spanish (thanks DuoLingo) and pick up some Swahili.

I volunteered and interned with the International Rescue Committee for 3 years and have a great appreciation for different cultures, foods, and perspectives.
