I believe in prioritizing the thought process over memorization; That way a student can tackle a problem regardless of its presentation. The growth in critical thinking is the goal and achieving mastery of the course in question is the tangible reward that will only expand a student's capabilities.
I use analogies and mnemonics to save time when something must be memorized. I procure that the student understands the big picture first, so they can see where a piece of information falls in.

Most of my experiences teaching others and adapting accordingly are owed to a couple of things: my four years in the U.S Army as a medic, and my work tutoring students at The University of Texas at San Antonio.

I worked in the Biology department at my school. Now I'm helping students in the Athletics department to academically succeed, so they can keep representing our school through their sports discipline.
