From a very young age, I developed a great love for anything French-related. I even took a couple of classes in high school to wet my appetite. The summer after my freshman year of college, I had the wonderful opportunity to go live in France for 18 months. I was fully immersed in the country, its culture, and of course, its language. Prior to moving to France, I had a highly intensive 6 week language training program that prepared me to live in a foreign country. However, what really helped me to hone my language skills was the everyday living in a country where I was completely submerged in the language. Communicating with natives all day every day not only helped my comprehension skills, but also my accent, vocabulary and grammar. I also designated a couple of hours every day to study French on my own using the Ultimate French Review and Practice textbook. When I returned home from France and went back to college, I took several upper-division French language classes that fine-tuned this second language I was now fluent in. I graduated from college this past December and I already miss my exposure to French! I am excited to begin working with you as we delve deeper into this beautiful language.
