Certified Tutor

I'm passionate about helping students and being part of the reason they achieve their academic and learning goals. I believe every student deserves motivating support throughout their educational journey, and it's truly rewarding to help them succeed.

My experience working with elementary students began during high school, when my classmates and I spent a semester visiting a local elementary school. We read books with students one-on-one and in small groups, assisting them with reading, writing, and classwork. More recently, I've worked on teaching phonics, including letter and sound recognition, to help students build a strong reading foundation. I also focus on sight word memorization and repetitive word recognition to support reading fluency.

I graduated from Putnam City North High School in 2008 and later earned a certificate in Medical Records from the University of Phoenix. Currently, I tutor elementary reading, which is my favorite subject to teach. I've always loved reading, and I aim to pass that same love of books on to my students. I believe knowledge is something you can never have too much of, and there is real power in reading. It's always fun to read with children, watch them engage with a story, and see their excitement as they follow along.

My teaching philosophy is centered around the idea that no two people learn the same way. My tutoring style is personalized to each student's unique needs and learning style. What works for one student may not work for another, so I take time to understand their individual challenges and interests. I blend both into the learning experience to keep them engaged and motivated. For me, it's all about finding what works best for the studentboth academically and beyond.
