I graduated from the University of Virginia, where I studied Drama. I'm an actor and writer by trade, which actually helps quite a bit with language education. Since college, I've used translation, tutoring, and more recently, classroom education to help pay the bills (acting, unfortunately, doesn't often pay much!). I am a fluent, non-native French speaker, which has some benefits--I am able to explain French grammar and culture clearly and in the student's native language, and I can provide an outside perspective that native speakers are often unable to. I've been studying French since I was 12 years old, and I have a number of French people in my life, including my roommate and my longtime girlfriend. When I'm not tutoring, acting or writing, I enjoy hiking and camping, as shown in my profile picture, as well as travelling, reading, making art and cooking. If you're looking to get started in the world of French, or improve your studies in levels 1-3, I'd love to work with you.
