Certified Tutor

For over 20 years, teaching has been my passion. I love working with children, discovering their unique needs and struggles, and helping them to find answers to their questions. My greatest joy is seeing children have that special moment of discovery, when they finally grasp a concept that has long eluded them.
After receiving my bachelor's degree in Music Education, I discovered that Elementary Education was my true calling. I am a certified teacher with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, and a Master's degree in Teaching and Learning. Most currently, I have also been certified to teach English as a Second Language.
My areas of tutoring include elementary school reading, English as a Second Language, and Adult Literacy. My favorite subjects to teach are reading and English as a Second Language.
As a tutor, I am patient and relaxed. My strength is in encouraging students who may lack confidence. I firmly believe that every child can learn and should have the opportunity to reach his/her full personal potential. I believe that kindness and gentleness go a long way in helping children learn, and that learning should be fun and interesting.
When I am not tutoring, I love working in my flower garden and watching birds come to my bird feeders. I enjoy reading and working puzzles. I love to visit zoos and go to the ocean.
