Painless algebra and Spanish tutoring exists. Are you ready? I have recently worked as a teacher's assistant for four years in Oakland and San Francisco. For most of my career I have done non-profit social service and public policy work with over 20 years of experience. I am finishing a BA at San Francisco State University (S.F.S.U.) then I plan to pursue a teaching credential to teach math in a public high school. My experience includes working with a broad range of students from: college, high school, high performing to low performing high risk, newcomer or special education students. I like working with students that have challenges so I am very patient and resourceful. I am majoring in economics and I'm proud to consider myself a big nerd who geeks out on math, world history, ethnic studies, English, Spanish, creative writing, poetry, political science, music and fine art. I am also a painter, graphic artist and cartoonist. I have a sense of humor and I like to have fun when I am tutoring because it helps students relax and learn better. I passionately believe that mean tutors are not nice.

I think it is important to help students solve the problems for their immediate assignments but it is also important to help students develop better study skills or habits that improve their abilities to utilize tools that will help them master their material and ultimately become less dependent on a tutor. Some people feel very self conscious or ashamed about reviewing basic arithmetic or algebra so I am very supportive with students who are struggling. I can tutor math or any other subjects I mentioned in my profile completely in Spanish. I am always thrilled to see students grasp a new concept with my help that they did not understand before. My goal as an educator is to help students achieve epic success and conquer their dreams.
