Certified Tutor

I graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor's degree in Finance and a minor in Economics. I am currently in my last semester at Johns Hopkins University, obtaining a Master's degree in Applied Economics.

In undergrad, I usually tutored classmates in finance, accounting, and economics. Since I felt very comfortable with the course material and I enjoyed teaching, it was only natural to tutor students that needed help. Since undergrad, I have been tutoring on-and-off for the past five years. I have mostly tutored subjects involving math, but I've tutored English before as well.

My teaching philosophy is to make learning interactive and collaborative. I believe that as students build their knowledge and understand the more basic concepts, they start to build confidence in order to tackle the harder concepts. Learning also takes patience, so I usually tell my students to take their time (I usually have to remind myself this when I am learning something new).

Outside of tutoring, I work full-time. I do debt funding for a finance company. When I am not working, I am usually listening to music or trying to find a live music in DC. I also try to stay active, this usually involved jogging or some sort of sport. I enjoy traveling and finding new and exciting places in DC.
