Karim
Certified Tutor
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences from Rutgers University in New Jersey, and I'm currently a third-year dental student pursuing a DMD degree at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine.
I have experience tutoring high school, college, and older students since 2012 in different subjects including Chemistry, Biology, Algebra, Geometry, French, Arabic and Admission tests such as SAT and DAT. During my undergraduate career, I was a teaching assistant in General Chemistry and I enjoyed tutoring this subject to a large group of students in a classroom setting or online. I also enjoy teaching foreign languages including French and Arabic. I grew up learning both languages and I had a minor in French Language and Literature from Rutgers University. In addition, I have tutored several students taking admission tests like SAT and DAT (Dental Admission Test) as well as AP exams.
My teaching philosophy revolves around equipping students with the skills and tools they need to learn and solve problems on their own, and master tough subjects. My main goal is to help students develop a passion for learning and a curiosity to know. Tutoring makes me very energized and I believe that passion is contagious. Therefore, I look forward to getting to know my students and finding out about their interests in order to understand their motivation. Overall, I believe that the purpose of tutoring is not simply learningbut learning how to learn.
In addition to tutoring, I like riding my unicycle, camping and canoeing, travelling ( my goal is to visit 50 countries by the age of 30!), building matchstick models of famous monuments, writing short stories or simply listening to pop music and having a good time with family and close friends.
