Certified Tutor

I am a rising sophomore at Harvard, and have not yet declared a major but will likely study government. I graduated from Simsbury High School. I have significant experience tutoring students at the middle school and high school levels, and actually took time off before college and spent it tutoring. I primarily tutor students in PSAT/SAT preparation and math (through Algebra 2), although I can also tutor introductory economics, statistics, and high school political science. Additionally, I enjoy writing and am interested in helping students refine their writing skills and editing their essays if needed.

My goal is to enhance students’ knowledge of key concepts while also making the learning process enjoyable. As a current college student and fairly recent high school graduate, I can relate well to what my tutoring students are going through, and I am aware of their teachers’ expectations. I encourage all of my students to ask plenty of questions whenever they are confused, as that is the best way to learn.

In my free time, I love playing the piano. I am primarily a jazz musician, and perform regularly. Another hobby of mine is politics, and at school I am very involved with the Institute of Politics. Other than that, I am focused on my academic studies. I look forward to helping students advance their own academic careers through Varsity Tutors.
