Certified Tutor

I am a Nationally Board Certified high school English teacher with 11 years of teaching experience. I have a degree in English and Education from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and a Masters of Education from National-Louis University in Chicago. I have taught 9th grade English and Reading, 10th grade English, and just finished my 3rd year teaching AP Language and Composition. I have extensive experience preparing students for the ACT English and Reading exams, the SAT Reading and Writing/Language exams, and the AP Language and Composition exam. I am passionate about helping students to become more confident readers and writers, and I believe in the power of literacy to open minds and transform lives. I know firsthand how important it is for students to receive one-on-one support from an expert, and I truly enjoy working with young people. I strongly believe that every single student has the ability to learn and grow. Outside of education, I enjoy reading and writing for fun, as well as dancing, swimming, and spending time with my family, fianc, and scruffy rescue pup.
