I am a motivated person who loves teaching others about STEM. I seek to not only instruct my students on required material so that they get good grades, but also inspire them to love science and math. I work with an education non-profit tutoring in math, biology, chemistry, and robotics to high school students, trying to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers. From years of physics education and research experience the fields of hematology, high energy particle physics, and radiation oncology, I have an in-depth knowledge of the subject matter and of the careers in STEM. I will work with you individually to give you a holistic view of the subjects we cover and how to relate them to your own life.

What is your teaching philosophy?
I use a combination of the Socratic method and the "I do, we do, you do" method. I believe that the student is capable of finding the answer for herself with just a little guidance from her teacher.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
I teach my students how to extrapolate what they've learned to guess what the subsequent subject matter might look like. I also teach my students how to identify what information will be useful in solving a problem and where to find that information.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
I help students stay motivated by introducing fun methods to learning or by relating the material to their lives.
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
I would backtrack and solidify that student's understanding of the concepts that led up to the material he is struggling with so that he can see the reasoning behind it.
