What is your teaching philosophy?
My teaching philosophy involves creating interest in the subject at hand.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
I would want to get to know the student, and see what they are capable of. I'd like to know their favorite books, their favorite movies, and things they like.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
A student becomes an independent learner by loving what they do, and understanding all of the simple things that go into a complex thing.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
I would relate the course material to their lives. Some students feel like their coursework, especially in English, is boring and has nothing to do with their lives. This is definitely not the case! Some of your favorite books, I guarantee, are based on Shakespeare!
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
I would break down the complex question into simple things.
How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?
We take it sentence by sentence.
