Certified Tutor
I enjoy working with students and helping them to realize their potential! I particularly enjoy working with younger students who are just learning to read, or older students who are struggling. Seeing these students realize that they have the power to be a reader is one of the most empowering feelings, for both students and teachers! :)

What is your teaching philosophy?
I believe that children learn best when they want to learn. I help children achieve this by forming a relationship with them and engaging multiple modes of learning, including movement.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
Students need to be taught how to be effective learners. This includes teaching them effective time and energy-saving strategies and allowing them time to practice in a scaffolded support environment.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
Praising students frequently is a great tool to increase motivation. Beyond that, showing students how far they have come is always a welcome refresher for both student and tutor!
