Certified Tutor
Students learn differently, process differently, and give it back to us differently. As educators we must learn to differentiate, accept learning differences, and assess differently. I have many years of life experience teaching kids and helping them to reach their potential. I love to find new ways to teach and new strategies for learning and look forward to working with you.

What is your teaching philosophy?
With reading comprehension, I like to break things down. First, I start with vocabulary so the student will have an understanding of the words before they get to them. Next, I like the students to visualize the scene, or draw a picture. Finally, I like to have the students retell what they are reading. I like to take reading passages in small chunks as well so they are not overwhelmed.
