Certified Tutor
I first discovered tutoring in college. At first it was just to make some extra money but then I realized there are many benefits to being a tutor.
In addition to getting paid to teach, I am constantly learning myself. This happens as I am preparing for tutoring sessions as well as when I am explaining concepts to those who I am teaching.
Another aspect of tutoring that I find fulfilling is when is when my students have an "aha! moment." The sudden solidification of ones understanding of a concept is a phenomenon that I enjoy experience myself as well as seeing in others.
In addition to tutoring I love playing snowboarding, playing basketball, and hiking.

What is your teaching philosophy?
My teaching philosophy revolves around assisted discovery; rather than telling my students facts, I would rather start off with basics, and through asking a series of questions, assist the student in formulating their own definition and understanding of the concept at hand.
