What is your teaching philosophy?

I love to teach using experiential learning in an interactive and fun way. It will encourage the student to learn better, faster, and, most of all, to remember the content.

Build rapport and trust.

By inspiring the student to love to learn and teaching learning techniques the student can use independently.

Be interactive and fun while learning.

Be patient, and listen to what the roadblocks may be. Then, break it down to make it easier for the student to learn.

How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?

Listen to what the student does not understand. Then, use the proper strategy to solve the problem.

What strategies have you found to be most successful when you start to work with a student?

Building rapport and trust, and connecting with the student. Find out what their learning style is. Break down the content, and teach it interactively. Listen to the student's needs.

How would you help a student get excited/engaged with a subject that they are struggling in?

Make it fun and interactive.

Review the material with the student. Ask questions.

How do you build a student's confidence in a subject?

I motivate them, support them and acknowledge them in their effort of learning the new material.

By actively listening and paying attention to their learning style and the results they provide.

How do you adapt your tutoring to the student's needs?

I pay attention to their learning styles and adapt to their needs. I may go over the material prior to when the course starts, take questions, and be patient.

What types of materials do you typically use during a tutoring session?

Pen and paper for note taking, computer, interactive whiteboard, textbook, if needed, and assignment sheets.
