What is your teaching philosophy?
My philosophy is very simple. I teach in way that makes sense, whether it be analogies to pop-culture or examples of personal experience. Clarity over functionality; once the information being taught is clear, then we can focus on the details.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
Introductions; get to know one another first. Communication is very important in any situation, especially for teachers.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
I can help by first letting them try on their own.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
It's actually very easy to keep a student motivated. I would use frequent breaks in between lessons, as well as some small talk; music also helps.
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
Read the question, repeat the question aloud, break the question down into smaller understandable parts, and then solve the question or grasp the topic.
